Powerful jade colored waters thunder through the agate like walls of the gorge at Athabasca Falls creating a natural sculpture. From the feather in her headband down to the outline of a breast this image looks, to me, every bit like an indian maiden.<br />

Athabasca Falls is a popular tourist stop right off the Icefields Parkway in Jasper National Park. I have spent many hours at these falls and tried to photograph them in many lighting conditions and from many different angles but that special shot, the one that would make be say "Wow!" continually eluded me. But on my last visit I finally discovered my purpose was not to photograph the falls. There was a special treasure just waiting for me to find it. And her name was Athabasca Squaw.
