So often in nature, as in life it's self, it is in the simplest things that we find the greatest beauty. What could be more common than a lily pad? Yet, caught in a moment just so, floating on the cobalt blue surface of a mountain lake the pads become extraordinary. They become the orchestra and the cattail becomes the conductor of a symphony in blue and green.

So often in nature, as in life it's self, it is in the simplest things that we find the greatest beauty. What could be more common than a lily pad? Yet, caught in a moment just so, floating on the cobalt blue surface of a mountain lake the pads become extraordinary. They become the orchestra and the cattail becomes the conductor of a symphony in blue and green.

Unlike a painter a photographer has to take what he is given. That statement is perhaps not as true as it once was what with digital manipulation. But, I am of the old school so it is still true for me. The hunt for these moments, that's the thrill. They are happening all around us all the time. The trick is to see them.
